As the years pass and new achievements are made, the world progresses. On January 22, 2026, the “New Year Symposium for Retired Screen Printing Workers (Zhongshan Station)” was successfully held at Zhongyi Ink Co., Ltd. This event was organized by the Screen Printing and Imaging Branch of the China Printing Technology Association and co-organized by Zhongyi Ink Co., Ltd. The president of the Screen Printing and Imaging Branch of the China Printing Technology Association, Dou Weifeng, along with several industry experts and retired screen printing workers, gathered together to warmly celebrate the arrival of the new year and discuss the glorious past of the industry, as well as draw up a blueprint for future development. At the same time, they presented sincere wishes for the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the association.

At the beginning of the symposium, Chairman Dou Weifeng delivered a speech in which he stated that the vigorous development of the screen printing industry is inseparable from the perseverance and deep dedication of generations of veteran workers. Since its establishment in 1981, the association has always resonated with the Chinese screen printing industry. From the initial promotion of technology and talent cultivation, to promoting the automation transformation and environmental upgrading of the industry, and now leading the digital transformation, the 45-year development process is a microcosm of China’s screen printing industry evolving from nothing to something, and from weakness to strength. Chairman Dou emphasized that the veteran workers are the founders and witnesses of the industry. With their craftsmanship and dedication, they have firmly established the foundation for the industry’s development. The association will take its 45th anniversary as a new starting point and carry forward the practical spirit of the older generation.

The atmosphere at the discussion session was warm and lively. The participating experts and teachers shared their thoughts based on their own professional experiences: They recalled the changes in the screen printing industry since the reform and opening up – from manual operations to the widespread use of intelligent equipment, from traditional solvent-based inks to green water-based and UV inks. Each step forward was the result of the efforts of several generations of screen printers. They also shared memorable stories from the exploration of technology and market expansion, fully demonstrating the dedication of “choosing one thing and dedicating one’s entire life” to it. Several veteran workers also based on the current situation of the industry, proposed suggestions and offered advice on issues such as technology inheritance, talent cultivation, and green development, lighting up the path for the younger generation of the industry.

Subsequently, Zheng Jingwei, the general manager of Zhongyi Ink, extended a warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to Chairman Dou and all the experts and teachers present. Mr. Zheng stated: Since its establishment in 1990, Zhongyi Ink has always been committed to the mission of “promoting green printing technology and driving the rapid development of the industry”, continuously researching and developing environmentally friendly and efficient inks, injecting new impetus into the industry’s development.

In the future, Zhongyi Ink will continue to increase its investment in the research and development of environmentally friendly inks and intelligent applications, deepen its collaboration with associations and industry colleagues, and provide better products and services to empower the printing industry, contributing our “Zhongyi strength”.

At the conclusion of the symposium, a touching scene unfolded at the venue. Although Teacher Cen Wen was unable to attend, he specially entrusted Teacher Huang Guoguang to present a meticulously created picture of a horse. The brushstrokes in the painting fully depicted the vigorous and energetic posture of the galloping horse, which not only conformed to the new year’s meaning of transitioning from the Year of the Dragon in the year of 2004 to the Year of the Horse in 2005, but also with the spirit of the horse’s forward progress, expressed his best wishes for the 45th anniversary celebration of the association’s establishment. He hoped that the screen printing industry would continue to exhibit the spirit of the dragon and achieve even greater success in the new year.
